​​​​Westwood for All Ages Docents are Helping Seniors at the Library

What is a Westwood for All Ages Docent?


Docents are volunteer Westwood seniors who help orient other seniors to the many resources available in Westwood and Bergen County. The Docents keep in touch with key people and agencies in Westwood, including the Borough Council, Recreation Department, the Library. the Riley Senior Center, and other departments in order to have the most up to date information to share.

Docents are currently available at the Library on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1-3pm to help seniors learn more about Westwood services and programs. Plans are underway for Docents to have hours at other locations soon.

​​Alzheimer's Disease: Approaches to Care - A Bergen County Caregiver Conference

Sunday, September 10, 2017  from 8:30am - 12:30pm 

Caregivers face many complex issues while providing care for loved ones with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. This half-day conference for caregivers will provide practical information about how to cope with the unique challenges of caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease. The conference will include an overview of Alzheimer's, including medication and care considerations, and a session detailing legal and financial planning. Attendees may visit resource tables for information about community support services. A light breakfast will be provided.
